*Added 3rd April 2005*: Saturday 2nd April saw a major working bee at the clubrooms. A new sign was erected on the front of the building due to the old one being obscured by a tree and not large enough. 3 points were replaced on the HO running layout as part of a program to replace all points on the 3 mainlines.

*Added 7th April 2005*: Another movie might for all members is to be held on Monday 11th April. All members are invited to attend. Or if you are not a member and would like to come please e-mail the webmaster before Monday 11th so that we know your coming.

*Added 7th June 2005*: Haven't had a news report for a while, but that doesn't mean nothing is going on. More progress has been made to the new layout "Elphinstone" with wiring of point motors currently underway. Wednesday 8th should see the layout "Oakham" pieced together after spending about 3 or 4 years in storage. Point replacement on the main HO running layout has currently halted pending the repair of one point.

*Added 4th September 2005*: Since the last update, huge progress has been made on Elphinstone. The layout is now able to run trains and a large amount of the scenic s nearing completion. Thanks goes to all members involved with the project. Oakham is now operational and can be used at exhibitions

*Added 12th February 2006*: The club held a BBQ before chirstmas which was well attended by members and their families. A running session was held on the day for the interest of others. Elphinstone continues to undergo minor touches so that it will be ready for our exhibition over Easter.

*Added 29th August 2006*: Oakham is receiving a face lift (Is that the right term? Perhaps not). For those who have seen this layout, you will remember it as a long British layout with only the station area modeled. Trains would spend most of the time behind the backboard. Things are changing however, with the last 3 weeks seeing the layout widened and becoming a 360 layout. Without giving to much away until some photos appear (some do exist), it will take one part to great heights. More to come next month.

*Added 20th July 2008*: A big update as it has been some time since the last one (The webmaster being very busy with work commitments). "Oakham" has now been completed and was re-launched as an exhibition layout at our Easter exhibition in March this year. Photos will be placed on our Fotopic gallery in due course. "Elphinstone" has also recieved some attention this month with the addition of it's own lighting equipment. Since it's first exhibition away from home at Geelong in January 2007 it has been found that many exhibition halls do not provide adequate lighting, as is expected to be the case when the layout attends the AMRA Caufield expo in late August. With that in mind, it was decided to construct self lighting equiptment to overcome the problem. It has made a huge difference to the appearance of the layout and should provide a "re-vitalised" layout for all future exhibitions it attends.

*Added 29th October 2009*: Another big update as it has been some time since the last one (The webmaster being very busy with work commitments). Our open day back in April was very well patronized with an attendance of 300. The club is looking to hold future open days with extra attractions/layouts. "Oakham" has had work done including lighting equipment like that fitted to "Elphinstone". The layout attended the AMRA Caulfield exhibition in August. "Elphinstone" had its one and only outing for the year in September when it was displayed at the Shepparton exhibition. The layout will not be displayed in our 2010 exhibition as it was displayed in 2006 and 2008. A N-scale layout project has been started as our old one had fallen into disrepair, some of the framing has been reused.
